Jakarta, CNN Indonesia - Indonesian Timah Exporters Association (AETI) stated that again Indonesia has a case of tin export leakage.
Neighboring countries, namely Singapore and Malaysia are said to still receive exports from Indonesia in the form of tin sands (ore) to date. In fact, AETI affirmed that the Indonesian government has prohibited the export of commodities in the form of raw materials or not yet processed.
"Actually this is not much to know. We have reports from Singapore and Malaysia that they are reporting that they still accept the export of tin sand, whereas Indonesia from 2007 already has a ban, "said AETI Chairman Jabin Sufianto in Bali on Monday (19/9).
He revealed, in 2015 China also released data on tin sand imports from Indonesia of 19.5 tons. The number is fairly small, but he did not deny there are still other leaks that are not recorded.
"It is small, but it is recorded, let alone the baseball recorded," he added.
He further explained, the case of export leak is not only occur between countries, but also between islands. He pointed out, there is delivery of ingots for local purposes to Jakarta, but in fact the tin that was sent not up as written in the goal.
"For example A company in Jakarta, which also gets the supply from tin, but when checked the goods are not up. So where to go? "He said.
According to him, currently AETI is tracking the case because inter-island tin shipments have become a mode of tin smuggling. Jabin states, most likely there is a high volume in the smuggling.
Another example, company A sends tin to a company in Jakarta of 150 tons. However, received only 99 tons, while the rest is not known to where.
"For example there is a delivery from Bangka to Jakarta 150 tons, while we know that the company can only export 99 tons and the remaining 51 tons to where? Or vice versa deh 51 tons in exports, then which 99 tons to where? Keep fit to be checked into companies related tin baseb there, "he explained.
According to him, the case that occurred this year is the case of the largest export leak since Jabin reported as Chairman of ATEI in 2014. Jabin said, many parties who reported cases of export leaks to him. Unfortunately, he has not received any evidence of tin shipment cases between the regions.
"There are so many who report to me. But I have not got any proof yet. So you could say this year's theme is a leak, its performance so baseball maximally, "he added.
The maximum performance can be seen based on data held by the Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (Bappebti), where there is a decline in the number of exports in the first six months of this year which is 29.652 thousand tons or down from the same period last year amounted to 39,359 thousand tons.
Thus, he wants this issue to be a concern of stakeholders in the tin industry, so that export leakage can be minimized.
"So all of them also open their eyes to the problem," he concluded. (Gear)
