Thursday, August 18, 2016, 15:09 pmVIVA.co.id - Indonesian Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (ICDX) said Indonesia is the second largest production country and largest tin exporter. Therefore, ICDX will create a bonded logistics center to strengthen the increasing competitiveness of Indonesia's tin industry.
Henry Chandra, President Director of ICDX Bonded Logistics (ILB), said the ownership of a bonded logistics center will make Indonesia more competitive, and can be one of the right strategies to get more global market players to conduct tin transactions through Indonesian stock exchange (ICDX).
"This is the initial stage, we first setup to accommodate tin. Later on it can be developed for other bonded commodities, "Henry said during a press conference at ICDX office, The Capitol Building Jakarta on Thursday, August 18, 2016.
ILB is considered to benefit domestic and foreign market players to save Indonesia's tin, after they have made transactions. In other words, the goods are already export claims. ILB can reduce transportation and logistics costs.
Previously, tin production Indonesia without controller can come out freely which then dumped in Singapore. Thus, the multilateral trading process actually occurs in Singapore to Indonesia's production tin. That way, Singapore can benefit from warehouse management funds, while Indonesia is harmed.
"If the goods are stockpiled in Indonesia, then the composition of tin trade really sovereign in their own country. If it has been stored in Indonesia, the goods can not be issued immediately. Issued when the item value is higher. No jor-rod issued out of the country, "he said.
Planned, operations can begin approximately three months after October, where specific rules for bonded logistics will be issued by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance.
ILB is built on an area of 15,141 square meters with a 1,200 square meter warehouse. The ILB will become an international area, thus immune to changes in Indonesian government regulations, and will provide a secure sense of protection.
"Indonesian tin buyers who keep their transactions at ILB also get more competitive financing, such as the financing they get abroad," Henry said.
He added that the volume of potential that can be obtained ILB will not be far from 16 thousand - 18 thousand tons of tin. (Asp)
