Jakarta -The quality of tin ore in Indonesia is considered the best in the world with 99.9% purity. Head of Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (Bappebti) Bachrul Chairi said, the quality of the top makes tin Indonesia so the most sought after by electronic phone manufacturers.

"The main buyers of our tin are Apple and Samsung," Bachrul said in Indonesia Tin Conference and Exhibition, Jakarta, Thursday (18/08/2016).

However, according to Bachrul, Indonesia once wanted to be boycotted because Indonesia's tin mining is considered environmentally unfriendly, environmentally unfriendly. Therefore, Indonesia needs to build its own tin commodity exchanges.

Currently standing Indonesia Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (ICDX). In addition to being able to determine their own prices, the ownership of commodity exchanges can also be a guarantee of Indonesia's tin mined with the principle of sustainability.

"So that is traded through ICDX must be clear and clean first. Each tin production will be verified from which source, who is the miner, will be verified by the surveyor, "explained Bachrul.

"If not escaped, tin can not be sold on the stock ICDX. Thus we can prevent illegal mining, which causes tin demands that are environmentally friendly and sustainable we can be fulfilled, "he added.

From transaction data, when released in 2013, ICDX already traded 18,000 metric tons of tin ingot or alumina, rising in 2014 to 54,000 metric tons, then 2015 rose to 70,000 metric tons, and last January-July period was 32,600 metric tons.

"Now ICDX started to be a reference, indeed we are only 3 years old, compared with LME (London commodity exchanges) that have been hundreds of years. There are currently 63 companies listed on ICDX, with 34 sellers and 29 buyers who traded bargaining on ICDX exchanges, "Bachrul said.

On the same occasion, ICDX CEO Megain Widjaja said that the high quality of Indonesia's tin is not only determined by its purity level, but also from its larger white content and not many other countries.

"The quality of our tin is amazing, the best in the world. That's a statement from buyers. Because the content of lead is low, then the element of purity is very good compared to other countries, purity 99.9%, "said Megain.
